Our next camp out will be December 11 & 12 at Old Man’s Cave. On Saturday we will be hiking the lower gorge from Old Man’s Cave to Cedar Falls and then back on the ridge trail.  This will be a good warm up hike for the Winter Hike coming up in January. We will be joined by former T48 Scout Jeremy Poetker. This will be Jeremy’s last camp out before he departs in January on a mission trip for his church.

I have posted Jeff’s pictures from the event.

Now that Apple Festival activities are over we will be getting back to our regular meeting routine. Our next outing will be on Oct 30th and 31st. We will be camping at Buckeye Furnace which is located off of St. Rt. 124 east of Berlin Cross Roads.  They are having their annual celebration and we will be assisting with parking cars for the event.  The day will not be all work and no play though as there will be plenty of time for every one to enjoy all of the various activities going on.  Current plans call for the troop to depart the church at 5:00 p.m. on Friday the 30th and return on on the evening of Saturday the 31st. All food will be furnished by the troop but you should bring anything special you might want to eat or drink.  The gift shop will be open and there will possibly be other places to spend money so you might want a little pocket money.  More information will be announced at troop meetings as it becomes available.

Well the Festival is officially open for business and Wednesday was a busy day.  We were short handed and could not man two of our largest lots. Hopefully the rest of the week more folks will come out to help with the Troops Fund Raiser of parking cars.  I have started posting pictures both here on the troops web site as well as on the troops Facebook page. Check them out at the following links.
