Folks
This really has nothing to do with Troop 48 but I though it interesting. Any one remember Dave McGee? He was the First Aider at camp last summer. Dave, a fellow Jacksonite has held different positions at camp over the years but I found it interesting to note what he will be doing this summer. Dave just graduated from the Northern Arizona University as part of Class #15 in their Park Ranger Training Program. This summer Dave will be working for the National Park Service as a Ranger at Lodore District, Dinosaur National Monument in Colorado. Keep up with Dave by visiting his blog at:

Here Dave is seen saving the day for a

2008 Merit Badge Prerequisites
Posted by t48bsa under News | Tags: Merit Badge, Summer Camp |Leave a Comment
Hey Camp is just around the corner!!!
For those Scouts wanting to work on Merit Badges at Chief Logan Reservation this Summer it is strongly recommended that you review the “Merit Badge Prerequisites” list. Several merit badges can not be completed if you do not prepare ahead of time. At the very least you should review the requirements before camp. A good site to visit for a list of requirements is the “Merit Badge Resource Center“.
Remember: “BE PREPARED”!

Philmont Crew:
Don’t forget the training hike this Saturday at Lake Katharine. Meet at the lake at 8:00 am with full packs. This will probably be our last training hike before the real thing.
Remember this from 2006?

In case you were not aware Troop 48 has four who are Graduating from Jackson High School this week. All have already turned 18 and are no longer officially Scouts but are now Scouters. As Scouters they now are in the position to help the next generation of Scouts along the Scouting trail. As these new Scouters move on to the next phase of their life, be it more education or full time employment take a minute to wish Jaycee, Jeremy, Josh and Matt success in the future and that they live their life according to the Scout Oath and Law.

Folks
Add our Blog to your RSS Reader by using the RSS link on the left side. This will make it much easier to keep up to date on what is going on with the troop. With an ever increasing Internet and wireless presence I hope we find ways to blog updates of activities while they are happening. I know that some of our leaders already have Internet ready phones or PDA’s so we will be exploring these and other options. This blog will not be replacing our web site but it will serve to compliment it. I will still continue to post pictures of activities when available after the event but the post will be announced through this blog now with links instead of on the home page of the web site. To visit this blog direct use this web address. www.t48bsa.wordpress.com and it will take you direct to it.

Scouts & Scouters
Don’t forget that Saturday May 3rd is Beaver Day at Camp Chief Logan. There are enough chores to keep every one as busy as a Beaver for the whole day so come early and stay late to help get camp ready for a busy summer.
